CAN urges fans to watch NPL inaugural match from home



KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has urged fans to watch the inaugural match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) from home, as all tickets for the opening game have been sold out.

In a video message, CAN Secretary Parash Khadka said, “All tickets have been sold, and as the first day is always crowded, we humbly request everyone who has not secured a ticket to watch the match from home and support us.”

NPL tickets are being sold through Khalti, with a total of 8,000 tickets available, of which about 2,000 were reserved for players’ families, organizers, and sponsors. Tickets for the inaugural match, released on Friday, sold out within a few hours.

The price of a regular ticket is Rs 500 for the inaugural and other league matches, and Rs 1,000 for the play-offs and final matches. Premium tickets for the inaugural match and Saturday are priced at Rs 1,500, while for other league matches they cost Rs 1,000, and Rs 2,000 for the play-offs and final matches.

Khadka confirmed that all tickets for the opening match have been sold, urging fans who could not get tickets to stay at home and watch the game.

The second edition of the NPL will begin on November 17 (Monday), with the opening match between Janakpur Bolts and Kathmandu Gorkhas scheduled for 4 pm.
