Election the only viable option at present, says Dahal

CHITWAN: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that holding elections is the only viable option in the current political situation.

Speaking at a function in Chitwan on Thursday, Dahal said the present state of politics has left no alternative to elections and urged all political parties to prepare accordingly.

He acknowledged that doubts over whether the elections will be held on time were natural, but assured that the polls would take place as scheduled. He directed party leaders and cadres to begin preparations.

Dahal also called on party members not to be concerned about internal disputes, saying the Maoist Centre had come back on track and would move ahead unitedly.

On party unification, he said discussions on left unity had reached a conclusion and that the process would begin within the Socialist Front in the coming days.
