Indian Ambassador pays courtesy call on PM Karki



KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday, they discussed various matters of bilateral interest and mutual concern, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

Prime Minister Karki requested support for the government’s primary agenda of conducting elections.

On the occasion, Ambassador Srivastava conveyed congratulations from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Karki’s appointment as Nepal’s Prime Minister.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Modi’s message emphasized working together to further strengthen Nepal–India friendship and cooperation.

Ambassador Srivastava reaffirmed India’s commitment to assist Nepal as a good neighbor and informed that Prime Minister Modi plans to have a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Karki on September 18.
