Karki government to have only 11 ministers

KATHMANDU: Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that her cabinet will have a maximum of 11 members.

In an interview with BBC Nepali Service, Karki clarified that the number of ministers in the current government will not exceed 11. “Ministers will not be from any political party. We are selecting non-political individuals who have experience working in institutions. Only those who are not contesting elections will be appointed as ministers,” Karki said.

So far, three ministers have already assumed office in the Karki-led cabinet: Rameshwar Khanal as Finance Minister, Omprakash Aryal as Home Minister, and Kulman Ghising as Minister for Energy, Physical Infrastructure, and Urban Development.
