Landslide blocks Dhadingbesi–Malekhu road

DHADING: The Dhadingbesi–Malekhu road, which connects the district headquarters with the Prithvi Highway, has been completely blocked by a landslide.

The incident occurred at Saghutar in Nilkantha Municipality–8, where debris from above the road—including rocks and uprooted trees—fell, cutting off traffic along the route.

Local ward chair Prakash Shrestha said the landslide struck at the same location as last year, making immediate clearance difficult.

Authorities have urged residents and travelers to remain cautious, as heavy rainfall continues across much of the district, raising the risk of further slides.
