Drinking water facility reaches 900 households in Myagdi



MYAGDI: A drinking water facility under the “one house, one tap” initiative has been extended to more than 900 households in Myagdi district.

According to Jhalak Mohan Ojha, Chief of the Drinking Water, Water Resources and Irrigation Division Office, drinking water access has been expanded to 931 households in the current fiscal year 2081/82.

Meters have been installed in all 931 taps out of the 1,283 constructed under the project.

The project involved the installation of 3,119 meters of main pipeline, 106 kilometers of branch pipelines, 22 reserve tanks with a combined capacity of 4,072 cubic meters, and 277 additional supporting structures.

Of the Rs. 69.825 million allocated by the provincial government for 36 drinking water schemes, 35 have been completed, with 96.09% (Rs. 67.95 million) of the budget utilized.

Additionally, three out of five federally funded schemes have been implemented, with Rs. 4.395 million or 86.19% of the Rs. 5.1 million federal budget spent.

This year, tap water systems have been extended to all households in Dowa, Histan Aula, Pulachour, and Baranja. Dil Prasad Fagami, Chairperson of the Consumer Committee for the Aula Household Drinking Water Scheme, confirmed that metered taps have been installed in every household in the area.
