NEPSE goes up as turnover crosses Rs 13 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index edged up by 2.80 points on Monday, closing at 2,658.66 points, showing a marginal gain despite a significant rise in total turnover.

According to NEPSE, the total trading volume reached Rs 13.18 billion, a noticeable increase from Sunday. A total of 124 companies recorded gains, while 124 saw a decline, indicating a flat sentiment in the broader market.

Although the NEPSE index increased slightly, several sectoral indices including Finance, Hydropower, Investment, Manufacturing, and Others posted losses. In contrast, sectors such as Banking, Development Banking, Hotels & Tourism, Life Insurance, Microfinance, Mutual Funds, Non-Life Insurance, and Trading witnessed positive movements.
