Supreme Court orders release of Rabindra Mishra



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the release of Rabindra Mishra, senior vice-chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

A joint bench comprising Justices Kumar Chudal and Til Prasad Shrestha issued the order, according to Supreme Court Information Officer Nirajan Pandey.

Mishra was arrested on March 28 in connection with a violent protest organized by royalist supporters in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

Police had been investigating him on allegations of involvement in the unrest.

Authorities were reportedly preparing to file charges against Mishra, including criminal mischief, offenses against the state, and organized crime.
