Light rain expected today

KATHMANDU: The weather remains cloudy across many parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley today.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light rain has been reported in isolated areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Currently, many areas across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, are experiencing cloudy skies, according to the Division.

While there is little chance of significant rainfall this morning, showers are likely in several areas by the afternoon, it added.

The current weather pattern is primarily influenced by local winds, with some partial impact from a low-pressure system located over the Bay of Bengal and Uttar Pradesh in India.

Rainfall activity is expected to increase starting tomorrow.

The Division has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in parts of the hilly regions, especially in Koshi Province, and in isolated locations across the rest of the country this afternoon.

Light rain or snowfall is also likely in a few places within the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, isolated areas in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience light rain with thunder and lightning.
