KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported the partial influence of a western low-pressure system combined with local winds across the country.
According to the Division, the weather is currently partly to generally cloudy in the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the hilly regions, including Lumbini province, are partly cloudy. The remaining areas are mostly clear.
Light rain with thunderstorms is occurring in isolated areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and the hilly regions, while other areas will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.
Thunderstorms are likely in a few places across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Light rain with lightning is also possible in some areas of the hilly regions of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as one or two places in the remaining hilly areas.
Light snowfall is possible in the higher hilly and mountainous regions of the aforementioned provinces.
Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to mostly clear.
Light rain with lightning may occur in a few hilly regions, and light snowfall is possible in the high hilly and mountainous areas.
