Nepal witnessing general impact of westerly winds



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that the country is currently experiencing the general influence of westerly winds.

The Division reports that the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country is mostly clear.

This afternoon, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly areas, including Sudurpaschim province, with the rest of the country staying largely clear.

There is a chance of light snowfall in isolated locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather will continue to be partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while other parts of the country will remain mostly clear.

Light snowfall is again possible in the high hilly and mountainous regions of these provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, light snowfall is expected in several places across the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Additionally, morning mist and fog in some Terai areas could disrupt daily life, health, and transportation (both road and air).

The Division has urged the public to take appropriate precautions to mitigate these potential impacts.
