KATHMANDU: A scheduled press conference by opposition parties in the federal parliament to demand the convening of the winter session has been postponed.
Initially planned for today, the event will now take place at 3 pm tomorrow, as the designated task force failed to complete its preparations.
During a joint meeting yesterday, six opposition parties concluded that the government is increasingly relying on ordinances to govern and agreed to push for a special session if the regular winter session is not convened promptly.
A task force comprising Maoist Center leader Barshaman Pun and Unified Socialist leader Beduram Bhusal was tasked with drafting a unified platform for the opposition. However, delays in completing the draft necessitated the postponement.
The opposition parties aim to pressure the government into upholding parliamentary processes and convening the winter session without further delay.
