Snowfall in high hills and Himalayan regions, chances of rain in some provinces



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a partial influence of a westerly low-pressure system over the country.

According to the division, hilly regions of the country are currently experiencing partial cloud cover, while some areas in the Tarai, including Sudurpaschim Province, are blanketed in fog.

This afternoon, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, along with hilly regions of Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, are expected to see partial to generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will remain partially cloudy.

Light to moderate rainfall is likely in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, with chances of light rain in a few hilly areas of Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces. Additionally, light snowfall is expected at a few locations in the high hills and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces.

Tonight, partial to generally cloudy conditions are forecast for the hilly areas of Gandaki and Karnali Provinces, while the rest of the country will see partial cloud cover.

Light snowfall is likely in a few locations in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Karnali Province and at isolated spots in the high-altitude areas of other provinces.
