Pakistan Embassy hosts annual Nepalese alumni gala in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: In continuation of its tradition of celebrating Nepalese alumni of Pakistani institutions, the Embassy of Pakistan held its Annual Alumni Get-Together Gala in Kathmandu.

The graduates included recipients of scholarships under various schemes offered by Pakistan, as well as those who pursued studies on a self-finance basis. As many as 450 alumni, dignitaries, and friends of Pakistan attended the occasion. The event provided an opportunity to reconnect, relive memories, and strengthen the bonds that so fondly exist between the two peoples.

In his remarks, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, emphasized that such gatherings serve as an invaluable platform for alumni to deepen mutual understanding between the two countries. He recalled that most alumni had experienced Pakistan’s culture, cuisine, and hospitality—experiences that created lasting memories and nurtured mutual respect.

He further noted that more than 4,000 Nepalese graduates of Pakistani institutions are contributing to Nepal’s development and to communities across the globe.

The alumni appreciated the Embassy’s efforts to expand the gathering and expressed their commitment to strengthening cultural, educational, and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Nepal. Education and training in IT, AI, medical innovation, and other need-based disciplines were highlighted by the participants, who also pledged their continued support for these areas.
