Madhesh Chief Minister Yadav urges agitating parties to return to dialogue

JANAKPURDHAM: Newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Saroj Kumar Yadav has called on the Madhesh-based political parties protesting against him to come to the negotiating table.

He urged all sides to seek solutions through dialogue, communication, and consensus.

Addressing the people of the province on Saturday, Chief Minister Yadav said that every problem can be resolved through talks and cooperation, stressing the need to end protests and move forward with coordination.

Expressing concern that the ongoing agitation among Madhes-based parties could escalate into confrontation, he emphasized that dialogue is the most appropriate approach to addressing the current situation. He also stated that the chief minister and heads of constitutional bodies are facing security challenges at present.

Yadav claimed that the protesting Madhes-based parties lack clear agendas, adding that if they disagree with his appointment, they should pursue legal remedies through the Supreme Court.

Although he is under the protection of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police, he said that the aggressive behavior of protesters has pushed the situation toward potential clashes.

Stating that the previous government led by Jitendra Sonal of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) collapsed due to internal interests among coalition partners, Yadav said he would accept the Supreme Court’s verdict. He reiterated his commitment to the Constitution and federalism.
