World Cup Qualifiers: Nepal to face Oman today

KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on Oman today in a crucial match of the Super Six stage of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers.

Having secured narrow victories against UAE by one run and Qatar by 5 runs, Nepal is just one win away from qualifying for the 2026 T20 World Cup. A win against Oman in tonight’s match will confirm Nepal’s spot in the global tournament.

The highly anticipated match will begin at 8:45 PM and is seen as decisive for both teams’ qualification hopes.

Nepal, which will play its final Super Six match against Samoa on Friday, currently shares the top of the table with Oman, both having six points. However, Oman leads the standings on net run rate, while Nepal is in second place. UAE and Japan have two points each and sit third and fourth, respectively, while Qatar and Samoa remain winless.

The top three teams from this round will qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup, set to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
