Families of police officers killed during Gen-Z protests to receive Rs 1 million each



KATHMANDU: Families of police personnel who lost their lives during the recent Gen-Z protests will receive financial assistance of Rs 1 million each.

According to Nepal Police spokesperson Deputy Inspector General Binod Ghimire, the amount will be collected through salary deductions from officers ranging from the Inspector General of Police down to the rank of inspector.

In a notice issued today, DIG Ghimire stated: “It has been decided that the families of police officers who were killed in the line of duty during the protests on September 08 and 09 will be provided with Rs 1 million each, collected through salary deductions from ranks between the Inspector General and inspectors.”
