Home Minister Aryal announces relief for Gen-Z protest victims



KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Home and Law Minister Om Prakash Aryal assumed office at Singha Durbar on Monday, shortly after being sworn in at Sheetal Niwas.

Upon taking charge, Minister Aryal announced immediate relief for families of those killed during the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9. Each of the 72 bereaved families will receive Rs 100,000 to support funeral expenses.

Aryal also declared that a National Day of Mourning will be observed in memory of the victims, with flags to be flown at half-mast on government buildings.
