PM Oli heading to Madhesh for road inaugurations and police office opening



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to visit Madhesh Province today to take part in official programs in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts.

He will depart for Dhanusha at 11 am aboard a Nepal Army helicopter, where he will inaugurate the Madhesh Police Office and lay the foundation stone for a road in Hanspur.

From Dhanusha, the Prime Minister will travel to Mahottari to lay the foundation stone for another road in Sonama. The project, an 8.384-kilometer blacktopped road connecting Raghunathpur Bazaar, Sonama, Tarahari, and Sundarpur, is being implemented under the Provincial and Local Road Improvement Program, a partnership between the Madhesh Province Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and the World Bank.

The construction contract, awarded to Dhukuchhu Construction Pvt. Ltd., is valued at Rs 190.78 million (including VAT) and is set for completion by March 2027.

Following his engagements in Dhanusha and Mahottari, PM Oli is scheduled to return to Kathmandu later today.
