Top End T20 series: Nepal facing Australia’s NT Strikers today



KATHMANDU: Nepal begins its campaign in the Top End T20 Series today, facing Australia’s Northern Territory Strikers in its opening match.

The series, which began on Thursday in Australia, features 11 participating teams, including top domestic and ‘A’ sides from several cricketing nations.

Nepal’s first match is scheduled for 2:15 PM (local time) on Friday, followed by a high-profile clash against Bangladesh ‘A’ on Saturday. The team will then take on Melbourne Stars on Monday, followed by a match against the Hobart Hurricanes on Tuesday.

Two final group matches are scheduled: Nepal will play Melbourne Renegades on August 20, and wrap up the group stage against Pakistan Shaheens on August 22.

The Nepali squad for the series includes: Rohit Paudel (captain), Dipendra Singh Airee (vice-captain), Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Arif Sheikh, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Bhim Sarki, Rupesh Kumar Singh, Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Karan KC, Rijan Dhakal, Lokes Bam, and Sahab Alam.

The series is expected to provide valuable international exposure for the Nepali side ahead of future ICC events.
