Landslides obstruct Kanti Lokpath and Araniko Highway



KATHMANDU: Landslides triggered by continuous rainfall have blocked at least six major roads across the country, including Kanti Lokpath and Araniko Highway.

According to police, Kanti Lokpath has been completely obstructed since Sunday morning due to a landslide at Bhairangdanda in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-8, Makawanpur.

Similarly, Araniko Highway has been blocked by a landslide in Kodari, Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchowk.

In Lalitpur, the Ashrang–Gimdi road has been shut due to a landslide at Rumbadanda in Bagmati Rural Municipality-6.

The Diktel–Gaighat road has also been obstructed by a landslide in Diprung Chuichumpa Rural Municipality-4, Khotang.

The Mid-Hill Highway has been closed in one direction following a landslide at Barkhetar in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-10, Khotang.

Meanwhile, the Rabi Ranke–Bhedetar road has been fully blocked by a landslide at Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-5 in Dhankuta, police said.
