Widespread rain reported across Nepal, including Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Rainfall is occurring in several parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, on Sunday morning.

According to Shanti Kandel, senior meteorologist at the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, it is currently raining in Kathmandu and surrounding areas, as well as in many parts of Bagmati, Koshi, and Madhes Provinces.

She added that light rain has also been recorded in a few areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

“It has been raining since last night,” Kandel said. “In Kathmandu, it has been raining continuously.”

She also noted that heavy rainfall was recorded in one or two locations in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces.
