Two youths arrested for making and circulating obscene videos of women

SANKHUWASABHA: Police have arrested two youths on charges of criminal profiteering and cybercrime for allegedly producing and distributing obscene videos of young women.

The accused have been identified as Sujan Bhujel, 29, and Bipal Rai, 22, both residents of Shadananda Municipality-1, Bhojpur.

According to Police Inspector Abhishek Kumar Shrestha, who also serves as the Information Officer at the District Police Office in Sankhuwasabha, the arrest was made following a complaint filed by a young woman from the district.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had created explicit videos of several young women and sent them to their relatives in a deliberate attempt to defame them.

The duo also reportedly threatened to release the videos and photos publicly if the victims did not comply with their demands.

Inspector Shrestha said the police took the suspects into custody after gathering evidence linking them to the case. The Sankhuwasabha District Court has approved an extension of their remand as further investigations continue.
