Chinese delegation meets PM Oli



KATHMANDU: A Chinese delegation led by Xiao Jie, Vice Chair of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, met with CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday at his residence in Baluwatar.

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation extended best wishes for the success of the upcoming Sagarmatha Dialogue, scheduled to begin in Kathmandu on May 16.

They also expressed China’s readiness to deepen the long-standing friendly relations between the two nations.

Xiao Jie conveyed good wishes from the Chinese leadership for Nepal’s development and prosperity and referred to Oli’s visit to China last December as successful.

Highlighting the historic and cordial ties between Nepal and China, PM Oli expressed appreciation for China’s advancements in development and technology. He also recalled President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Nepal as historic and multifaceted.

Reaffirming Nepal’s commitment to the One-China policy, Oli urged both nations to actively pursue the implementation of past cooperation agreements.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, Nepali Ambassador to China Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli, and senior officials from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
