Thunderstorms and rain likely in several provinces today



KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds, the Weather Forecasting Division has stated.

According to the Division, most parts of the country are experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions. Light rainfall has been recorded in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, and in isolated areas elsewhere.

Light rain and snowfall are also possible in one or two locations in the high hills and mountainous regions across the country.

Tonight, skies will remain partly cloudy over the hilly regions, particularly in Koshi Province.

There is a likelihood of light rain with thunder and lightning in isolated areas of the hilly regions in Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Similarly, one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki may experience light rain and snowfall.
