Two dead in tipper accident in Tinkune



KATHMANDU: Two people died in a tipper accident at Tinkune, Kathmandu, on Saturday morning.

The victims have been identified as Sukram Tamang of Panauti Municipality-11 and Ramesh Tamang of Bethanchowk Rural Municipality-6, both from Kavre.

According to the New Baneshwor Police Circle, the accident occurred when a tipper (Ra 1 Kha 2622) collided with a motorcycle (Pra 3-02-003 Pa 6245) in front of the Gaurigaun Petrol Pump at around 4:30 am.

The tipper hit the motorcycle and fled the scene, leaving both riders critically injured. The victims were rushed to the trauma center for treatment but succumbed to their injuries during the medical intervention.

The police have since located the tipper inside the airport cargo and taken it under control. While the driver remains at large, authorities have established contact with the vehicle’s owner and are actively searching for the absconding driver.
