Nishikhola fire continues for two days



BAGLUNG: The fire occurred at Sinwadwar of Nishikhola rural municipality-6 in Baglung district has not come under control.

Chairperson of the rural municipality, Surya Bahadur Gharti, said the fire occurred in different community forests since Friday afternoon is still out of control.

Community forest at Sinwadwar, Tigrapani, Koskan, and Sun areas have caught the fire. More than 100 pens of sheep in these areas area are now at high risk of fire, he added.

Security personnel have been deputed to douse the fire. “Farmers graze sheep and goats in Nisikhola. There are more than 100 pens for thousands of sheep and goats. The enclosures are endangered by the blaze”, shared Chair Gharti.

Reason behind the forest fire is yet to be ascertained.
