President issues ordinance to amend land-related acts

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has issued the “Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Relating to Land, 2025.”

The ordinance was approved on Wednesday, following the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, in accordance with clause (1) of Article 114 of the Constitution.

This comes after the President initially put the ordinance on hold, stating he would study it further.

Of the five ordinances recommended by the cabinet meeting last Friday night, four were issued last Monday.

These include the ordinance amending some Nepal Acts related to the promotion of good governance and public service delivery, the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, the Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, and an ordinance amending some Nepal Acts related to improving the economic and business environment and promoting investment.

The fifth ordinance, related to land, was issued by President Paudel on Wednesday after his review.
