Minister Ghising directs early completion of Muglin–Pokhara road



TANAHUN: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has directed contractors to expedite the completion of the under-construction Muglin–Pokhara road.

During an inspection of the western section from Jamune to Pokhara, Minister Ghising instructed construction entrepreneurs to finish the project within the stipulated timeframe and ensure smoother traffic movement.

While reviewing the progress, Minister Ghising expressed his commitment to assist in resolving any obstacles hindering construction. According to project officials, physical progress on the western section stands at 59.76 percent, while financial progress has reached 47.80 percent.

Project Chief Krishna Bahadur Kunwar said first-layer blacktopping has been completed on 37.4 km of the total 48.88 km stretch. Of this, four lanes have been completed on 29.61 km and two lanes on 7.79 km.

Out of 12 bridges in the section, 11 have been completed, with construction ongoing on the remaining bridge over the Seti River. Kunwar added that of the 25 km targeted for four-lane upgrading in the last fiscal year, 23.06 km has already been blacktopped. Similarly, all 11 bridges planned for completion during the period have been finished.

The project office also reported that 65 of the 66 targeted culverts have been completed, along with 45.2 km of drains out of the planned 51.5 km.
