Santosh Pariyar quits Rastriya Swatantra Party

KATHMANDU: The wave of departures from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by Rabi Lamichhane, continues as senior leader Santosh Pariyar resigned from the party on Friday.

Pariyar, who served as the Chief Whip of the dissolved House of Representatives and was also a member of the party’s Secretariat, tendered his resignation citing growing internal rifts.

RSP spokesperson Manish Jha confirmed Pariyar’s exit. “Santosh Pariyar, who was serving as the party’s Chief Whip in the dissolved House, submitted a resignation letter to the acting president and general secretary,” Jha said. “He informed us that he plans to move ahead with a new political campaign.”

Pariyar’s departure comes at a time when several leaders have been distancing themselves from RSP, signaling deepening discontent within the party’s leadership circle.
