KATHMANDU: A Nepal Airlines aircraft was diverted to Delhi after it was unable to hold in the air due to insufficient fuel before landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
The flight, RA 230, had arrived from Dubai and was scheduled to land at TIA at 9:40 a.m. on Friday. According to TIA spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, air traffic congestion prevented the aircraft from landing at the scheduled time. Although the plane was held in the air briefly, fuel levels were insufficient to continue waiting, prompting the diversion to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
Sherpa added that the aircraft will be refueled in Delhi and is expected to return to Kathmandu shortly.
