NRB releases today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published today’s foreign exchange rates, setting the buying rate for one US dollar at 141 rupees 57 paisa and the selling rate at 142 rupees 17 paisa.

The euro is being bought at 164 rupees 43 paisa and sold at 165 rupees 13 paisa, while the British pound is fixed at 186 rupees 24 paisa for buying and 187 rupees 03 paisa for selling. The buying rate for one Swiss franc stands at 177 rupees 93 paisa, with the selling rate at 178 rupees 68 paisa.

Similarly, the buying and selling rates for major currencies include 92 rupees 95 paisa and 93 rupees 35 paisa for the Australian dollar; 101 rupees 17 paisa and 101 rupees 60 paisa for the Canadian dollar; and 108 rupees 83 paisa and 109 rupees 29 paisa for the Singapore dollar.

Likewise, 10 Japanese yen are being bought at 9 rupees 15 paisa and sold at 9 rupees 19 paisa, while one Chinese yuan is priced at 19 rupees 95 paisa for buying and 20 rupees 03 paisa for selling. The Saudi Arabian riyal is set at 37 rupees 75 paisa for buying and 37 rupees 91 paisa for selling, and the Qatari riyal at 38 rupees 84 paisa and 39 rupees, respectively.

According to the central bank, one Thai baht is being bought at 4 rupees 38 paisa and sold at 4 rupees 40 paisa. The UAE dirham stands at 38 rupees 54 paisa for buying and 38 rupees 71 paisa for selling.

The Malaysian ringgit is priced at 34 rupees 29 paisa and 34 rupees 43 paisa, while the South Korean won is set at 9 rupees 66 paisa and 9 rupees 70 paisa. The Swedish krona is being traded at 15 rupees 05 paisa (buying) and 15 rupees 11 paisa (selling), and the Danish kroner at 22 rupees 02 paisa and 22 rupees 11 paisa.

The buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar is 18 rupees 22 paisa, with the selling rate at 18 rupees 29 paisa. The Kuwaiti dinar is fixed at 461 rupees 52 paisa for buying and 463 rupees 47 paisa for selling, while the Bahraini dinar stands at 375 rupees 52 paisa and 377 rupees 11 paisa.

The Omani rial is priced at 367 rupees 71 paisa for buying and 369 rupees 27 paisa for selling. One hundred Indian rupees have been set at 160 rupees for buying and 160 rupees 15 paisa for selling.

The Nepal Rastra Bank has noted that these rates may be revised at any time as needed. It also stated that commercial banks may set slightly different rates, and the latest updates can be accessed on the central bank’s website.
