Home Minister Aryal, Chinese Ambassador Chen discuss strengthening bilateral ties



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song held a courtesy meeting on Tuesday, reaffirming Nepal’s unwavering support for the “One China” policy and exploring ways to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.

During the meeting, Minister Aryal reiterated that Nepal firmly upholds the “One China” principle and will not allow any activity on its soil that undermines China’s sovereignty, unity, or territorial integrity.

He commended the long-standing friendship and mutual trust between the two nations, built on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and seven decades of diplomatic relations. Aryal also expressed Nepal’s readiness to enhance collaboration in trade, investment, infrastructure development, energy, agriculture, technology transfer, and tourism.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the two sides also discussed moving forward with key projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
