CHITWAN: Life in Chitwan is gradually returning to normal, with schools, colleges, and other educational institutions resuming regular classes from today. These institutions had remained closed since September 9 due to the Gen-Z movement.
The District Administration Office on Saturday issued a notice urging all academic institutions in the district to restart teaching and learning activities. Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal also called on transport entrepreneurs to resume both short- and long-distance public transportation services.
All public offices have been instructed to resume regular services as far as possible from today. Offices unable to fully restore operations have been asked to inform service seekers accordingly.
Employees at several offices have begun cleaning and restoring facilities that were vandalized or set on fire during the protests. The District Police Office will coordinate the deployment of additional personnel to assist in the cleanup. Meanwhile, the Nepal Electricity Authority has been tasked with restoring electricity supply, and the Drinking Water Office is working to ensure access to drinking water.
These decisions were made during a meeting of office heads, according to a statement issued by CDO Aryal. All government offices have also been directed to assess and document the damage in coordination with a committee formed to evaluate the losses caused by vandalism and arson during the protests.
