Govt set toll rates for Nagdhunga Tunnel



KATHMANDU: The government has announced a user fee for vehicles passing through the Nagdhunga Tunnel.

During its meeting on August 11, the Cabinet decided on the toll rates for various types of vehicles using the tunnel, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.

Under the new structure, cars and vans will be charged Rs 65 when entering Kathmandu and Rs 60 when leaving.

Mini buses and trucks will pay Rs 115 to enter and Rs 80 to exit the capital. Larger buses and trucks will be levied Rs 260 for entry and Rs 200 for exit. Heavy equipment will incur a toll of Rs 600 when entering Kathmandu and Rs 250 when leaving.

The government said the fees are intended to support the maintenance and operation of the Nagdhunga Tunnel, ensuring safe and efficient transport for commuters and goods.
