Adolescent girl shot dead



SUNSARI: A person has been shot dead in Harinagar Rural Municipality-6 of Sunsari last night.

The deceased has been identified as Archana Khatun, a 17-year-old girl from Harinagar-6, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yogaraj Khatiwada.

It has been reported that 25-year-old Ajaj Miya from Araria, India, opened firing at her on a domestic dispute.

The police informed that Archana died on the spot after she was shot. Accused Miya fled the scene after the incident and is currently on the run.

Search for the absconding is underway. The police have intensified search and surveillance along the bordering areas, including Supaul in India and Harinagar in Sunsari.
