Prachanda alleges conspiracy to defame Maoist Centre

KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chair of the main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre), today claimed that a conspiracy is underway to defame his party.

Speaking at a party entry program in Urlabari, Morang on Saturday, Prachanda stated that as public trust in the Maoist Centre grows, continuous conspiracies are being hatched from both inside and outside the party with the aim of encircling and discrediting it.

“While in government, we undertook significant work towards good governance, social justice, and prosperity,” Prachanda said. “Even though we were conspiratorially forced out of government despite doing good work, we took our campaign directly to the people’s homes.”

He added, “We shared joys and sorrows with the people. For this reason, public trust in the Maoist Centre has become even stronger.”

Recalling the significant success achieved by the Maoist Centre in Jhapa and Morang in eastern Nepal during the previous local elections, Chair Prachanda expressed confidence that the party would perform even better in the upcoming elections.

He alleged that reactionary forces are rattled by the Maoist Centre’s growing public base, leading to these conspiracies. Chairman Prachanda also pledged that the party would provide appropriate responsibilities to newly joined members and committed to further strengthening the organization as it moves forward.

Prachanda’s secretariat claimed that 370 leaders and cadres from various political parties joined the Maoist Centre during the program.
