PM Oli calls on UML cadres to counter critics and strengthen party base

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has called on the party’s mass organizations to step up their activism in support of Mission 2084, the UML’s campaign to secure a majority in the next general elections.

Speaking at a felicitation program organized for the newly elected office bearers of the various party organizations that held their general conventions between March and May, Prime Minister Oli stressed that achievements cannot be secured without timely advancement of the organizations.

“The organizations must increase their activity and reject the trend of stagnation and factionalism,” Oli said, urging leaders to work in unity.

He stated that organizations must remain alert and responsive to the criticisms and “attacks” aimed at the government and the UML from various quarters.

Reiterating the UML’s commitment to democracy, Oli said, “The foundation of the UML was laid 55 years ago by uniting various ideological forces. Today, wherever there are Nepalis, there is UML. No one can question our loyalty to democracy.”

He asserted that mass organizations have evolved into “factories that produce cadres” and should not be passive or reliant on sponsorship.

“Be committed to your ideas and disciplined in your actions,” he said, while also advising leaders not to intimidate or reprimand party workers, but instead focus on building lasting camaraderie.

Referring to social media critics, Oli used a metaphor, saying, “Respond to those who play bad music without rhythm or melody. Once our people’s organizations are fully active, such opponents will fade away on their own.”

Prime Minister Oli concluded by saying that if mass organizations mobilize effectively, it won’t take long for the entire country to align with the UML.
