Fire in Makhantol brought under control



KATHMANDU: A fire that broke out early this morning in Makhantol, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-24, has been successfully extinguished.

The fire, which reportedly started due to a gas leak, had spread to two residential buildings before emergency teams were able to bring it under control.

According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, fire engines from both Kathmandu and Lalitpur Metropolitan Cities were deployed to the scene.

Personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and local residents also played a crucial role in controlling the blaze.

Authorities confirmed that the body of an elderly woman, believed to be around 70 years old, was recovered from the site. Her identity has not yet been officially confirmed.

Efforts are currently underway to assess the damage and investigate the cause of the gas leak that sparked the fire.
