Westerly winds and Arabian Sea moisture influencing current weather



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds, along with partial influence from moisture-laden air entering from the Arabian Sea.

According to the Division, hilly regions across the country are witnessing partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear to partly cloudy. Some areas are experiencing light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Maximum temperatures have risen in many hilly areas, including the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

This afternoon, hilly areas including Koshi Province are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, with the rest of the country seeing mainly clear to partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and isolated areas in other hilly regions.

Light rain and snowfall may occur at one or two locations in high hilly and mountainous areas.

Tonight, hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces will likely remain partly to generally cloudy, while other areas are expected to be mainly clear to partly cloudy.

Light rain with thunder and lightning is possible in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki.
