One dead in rhino attack in Madi

KATHMANDU: A 56-year-old man lost his life in a rhino attack in Madi, Chitwan, on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Chhabilal Bot of Madi Municipality-3, was attacked while grazing buffaloes in a nearby forest.

District Police Office Chief Gautam Mishra reported that Bot died on the spot. His body has been taken to Bharatpur Hospital for an autopsy.

In a separate incident, a man went missing after jumping from a suspension bridge at Devghat during celebrations of Maghe Sankranti.

The missing individual, identified as 41-year-old Madan Pariyar from Lamjung, reportedly jumped into the river.

Authorities have launched a search operation to locate Pariyar, police said.
