Govt lacks courage to face Parliament: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chair of the main opposition party, Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has raised serious objections to the government’s decision to introduce ordinances.

Speaking at a program in Sukute of Sindhupalchowk on Tuesday, Prachanda, also the former Prime Minister, criticized the KP Oli-led government for resorting to an ordinance due to its lack of moral courage to face the Parliament.

Prachanda stated that the move reflects the government’s weakness, calling it the “weakest, most irresponsible, and morally deficient government.”

He further argued that the government has been moving in the “opposite direction” and has delayed efforts to form a majority in the Constitutional Council.

“The government has been ruling through ordinances because it lacks the courage to face the House. This confirms the government’s irresponsibility,” Prachanda said, urging that the House should be convened soon.
