Leader Khanal bats for socialism

SURKHET: The Nepali Communist Party’s leader Jhalanath Khanal called for orienting Nepal towards socialism.

At a programme organized by his party in Surkhet district today, Khanal, also the former Prime Minister, underscored the importance of socialism for development in the country. He expressed his concern stating that foreign interference was increasing in the national affairs and questions were being raised over national sovereignty. He sought seriousness towards nation and nationality.

On a different note, Khanal claimed there was no alternative for all the communist parties to come together to establish socialism to put an end to capitalism and corruption.

Similarly, Narayankaji Shrestha, another party leader, spoke of the need to establish the Nepali Communist Party as the party of clean leaders and cadres. Pointing out the need to unite one and all, he said the party should move ahead taking on board the labourers, indigenous communities and Dalits.

He asserted the Nepali Communist Party had come into being to provide a political outlet to the country.
