KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim Royals have set an 86-run target for Lumbini Lions in the final of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2, being played on Saturday.
After winning the toss at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground, Sudurpaschim opted to bat first but were bowled out for just 85 runs in 19 overs.
The batting collapse began early as opener Binod Bhandari was dismissed for a duck on the final ball of the first over. Sheldon Jackson followed soon after, scoring just one run.
Ashif Sheikh made six runs, while captain Dipendra Singh Airee scored 13 off 20 balls before getting out in the 10th over, with the team at 44 runs.
Lumbini captain Rohit Paudel claimed a hat-trick in the 10th over, dismissing Dipendra Airee, Deepak Bohora, and Punit Mehra in successive deliveries. Both Bohora and Mehra were dismissed without scoring.
Rohit’s hat-trick further deepened Sudurpaschim’s batting woes, restricting them to a modest total in the final.
