UML has risen from ashes to become strong again: Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the party has overcome difficult times and re-emerged as a strong political force.

Addressing the opening session of the party’s 11th National General Convention on Saturday, Oli said UML has “risen from ashes and transformed into a powerful party.”

He described the presence of leaders and cadres at the convention as just “a drop in the ocean,” claiming that thousands of such supporters exist across the country, reflecting the party’s strong organisational base and public support.

Recalling recent political challenges, Oli said, “Those were dark days. The country looked like a battlefield. There was propaganda that old parties were finished, leaders were gone, and UML had become irrelevant. But UML has moved forward by breaking through smoke, ashes and restrictions.”

Calling UML an “indestructible force,” Oli welcomed the delegates who travelled through harsh weather to attend the convention.

He expressed confidence that the 11th General Convention would further unite and strengthen the party.
