NEPSE goes up despite 124 companies seeing red



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed marginally higher on the last trading day of the week, even as the share prices of 124 companies declined.

A total of Rs 3.49 billion worth of shares were traded today, with the NEPSE index rising by a modest 1.13 points to close at 2,544.73 points.

Despite the overall market uptick, 123 companies recorded gains while the prices of eight companies remained unchanged.

Among the sectoral indices, banking, finance, hotel and tourism, hydropower, microfinance, mutual fund, and trading sub-indices closed in positive territory.
