Sudan Gurung holds Home Minister Aryal responsible for unfulfilled demands

KATHMANDU: Gen-Z activist Sudan Gurung has stated that Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal must take responsibility for addressing the demands of the Gen-Z movement. Gurung warned that without these demands being met, the upcoming elections cannot proceed effectively.

Gurung, who recently reached the site to dismantle the structure built by Khadka Land Pvt. Ltd on Nepal Scouts’ land, also raised suspicions about Minister Aryal’s past roles. He claimed that Aryal was present with them at Army Headquarters and had been introduced as a constitutional expert at the President’s Office.

“He convinced that he would support our cause. If these demands are not fulfilled, then telling us now to focus on elections is a betrayal,” he said.

Expressing frustration, Gurung criticized Aryal for prioritizing elections over the resolution of Gen-Z demands. He even questioned Aryal’s political alignment, saying, “Sometimes it feels like the Home Minister is from UML. His agenda seems to be elections, whereas our agenda is justice for the country.”
