Three arrested with drugs from different places in Siraha



SIRAHA: Police have arrested three individuals with drugs from different locations in Siraha. Of the three, two were arrested in the Golbazar area, and one in the Madar area, police confirmed.

According to Ramesh Bahadur Pal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, at around 11 pm on Saturday, a joint team from the Area Police Office, Golbazar, and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office, Golbazar, acting on special information, stopped and searched a motorcycle (Province 2-01-001 Pa 3026) traveling from Menchowk in Durga Mandir, Golbazar Municipality-6, toward Gumba Chowk.

They found drugs resembling brown heroin on the passengers. He said the seized drugs weighed 17 grams 540 milligrams including plastic packaging, and 15 grams of pure substance excluding plastic. Sunil Sah, 29, of Golbazar Municipality-7, and Bishnu Dev Yadav, 24, of Dhangadhimai Municipality-7, were arrested on this charge. The motorcycle has been confiscated, and further investigation is underway.

Earlier that same night, at around 9 pm, a team from the Area Police Office, Madar, based on confidential information, spotted a group carrying marijuana toward the Nepal-India border near Paterwa village, Siraha Municipality-17. The group fled after discarding their bags. Police recovered 64.9 kilograms of marijuana along with plastic from the spot.

While fleeing, 55-year-old Sreechan Mandal from Madhubani district, Bihar, India, was apprehended. A search continues for the other suspects, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pal. Pranau Pal added that police are conducting further investigations into both incidents.
