KATHMANDU: The Independent Power Producers’ Association Nepal (IPPAN) has expressed its commitment to collaborate with Nepal’s new interim government on energy sector initiatives.

In a statement, IPPAN congratulated Sushila Karki on her appointment as Nepal’s first female prime minister following the Gen-Z movement. The association said Karki’s tenure provides a historic opportunity to promote national prosperity through the energy sector, which is vital across all areas of development.

IPPAN Chairman Ganesh Karki highlighted the importance of a favorable investment environment and expressed hope that the new interim government would encourage private sector participation.

“We expect the new interim government to create an investment-friendly environment. In the current context, we are ready to collaborate with the government in rebuilding the nation and promoting economic prosperity through increased investment,” he said.

Chairman Karki also noted that private energy entrepreneurs are prepared to further contribute to energy security and are hopeful that the government will address existing challenges and obstacles in the sector, facilitating growth and development in the coming days.
