Heavy rain likely in some parts of the country



KATHMANDU: Widespread cloud cover has developed across the country as the monsoon’s low-pressure trough remains near the average position, setting the stage for moderate to heavy rainfall in several regions this afternoon.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, moderate rainfall is expected in some hilly areas and a few parts of the Terai. Additionally, there is a likelihood of heavy rain at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

Cloudy conditions are expected to continue into the night. The division has forecast moderate rain in several areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with light to moderate showers likely in other hilly and Terai regions.

There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Koshi, and Madhesh provinces.
